What is CPAL?

The Central Pennsylvania Aquatic League (CPAL) is a regional swim league in Pennsylvania that includes a network of swim teams from local schools and community swim programs. CPAL operates mainly during the fall and winter seasons, organizing swim meets and competitions for athletes at different skill levels, from developmental to competitive. It's designed to provide swimmers in Central Pennsylvania with an opportunity to develop their skills and compete against other teams in the region, fostering a competitive but community-oriented atmosphere.

The league runs dual meets and league championship events, with team scoring based on individual and relay performances. Swimmers participate in various strokes, including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly, and events are held for different age groups. CPAL is known for being a stepping stone for young swimmers as they progress to more competitive levels like USA Swimming.
